Have You Had Your Blood Pressure Checked?
Having your blood pressure checked can help you stay healthy. A simple blood pressure test will tell you if your blood pressure is too high.
High blood pressure can cause these problems:
"But I feel fine. I don't need to have my blood pressure checked."
High blood pressure is called the "silent killer" because it usually has no symptoms. You could feel fine and still have high blood pressure. The only way to know if you have high blood pressure is to get it checked by your doctor.
"What if my doctor says my blood pressure is high?"
With a doctor's help, you can lower your blood pressure. To lower it, you may need to take medicine, lose weight, exercise, quit smoking, and visit your doctor for regular checkups. Taking these steps could save your life!
