Putting Off Your Checkup?
Are you feeling worried or nervous about the idea of a checkup? These tips may help ease your fears:
Know that the doctor sees patients every day who face the same health issues you may have. So try not to feel embarrassed.
Your doctor’s job is to help you get and stay healthy, not to judge you.
You can bring a friend or family member. That person can ask questions for you.
Are you scared of getting a “bad” report? Tell your doctor this at the start of the checkup. He or she can explain what tests will be done.
Know that it is always better to find and start fixing health problems early before they have a chance to become more serious.
