What to Do When You Are Sick
The best way to get care when you get sick is by calling your doctor. Your doctor already knows a lot about you and your health.
Your doctor will listen while you talk about the problem. Then you and your doctor will figure out what to do next. Ask your doctor what number to call if you have a health problem when the office is closed.
Go to the emergency room right away if you have a health problem that puts your life in danger. Examples include bad chest pains and bleeding that will not stop.
If you have a health problem and you need help from a doctor but not in the Emergency Room, go to an Urgent Care Center. Urgent care is care that is serious but is not an emergency. Examples include ear aches or sore throats.
