Whip Up a Tortilla Treat
Soft corn tortillas can make a tasty and healthy snack or meal. Children can think up their own recipes. Here are some ideas for foods to wrap up:
Avocado
Chopped broccoli, peppers, or spinach (choose your favorite vegetables)
Tomato salsa
Beans
Grilled, chopped chicken—don't fry it
Rice—make it brown or wild
Low-fat or skim mozzarella cheese
Choose healthy foods for fillings. Skip high-fat foods like oil, butter, salad dressing, full-fat cheese, and sour cream. Try a sprinkle of these instead:
Lime juice
Cilantro
Minced garlic
